Advocacy and Empowerment for Tenants

Advocacy and Empowerment for Tenants

May 31, 2022 @ 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. ET

Presented by: Aruna Boodram, Paralegal - Community Legal Worker

In part one of our Housing series, we learned about the laws, regulations and how the system is structured around tenancy rights. We will now look at our own advocacy skills, and learn about the ways that tenants are taking back their homes, fighting against gentrification and how social workers can support tenants to advocate for themselves. We will also learn about resources available to tenants and explore the ways that social workers can intervene in the issues that tenants are facing..

This Webinar is FREE for Ontario Registered Social Workers (RSW), Registered Social Service Workers (RSSW) and Students of Social Work and Social Service Work Programs. Please note: If you are not an RSW, RSSW or student of these programs in Ontario, you may still attend but will be charged a fee of $20.
