An Experiential Introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

February 13, 2023 @ 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. ET

Presented by: Peter Sheffield, MSW, RSW

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a modern form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) that combines behavior change tools with strategies for cultivating mindfulness and a more expansive sense of self. This introductory webinar will introduce you to the ACT perspective on human psychological suffering, provide both experiential learning and descriptions of the core processes ACT therapists target, and demonstrate the range of ACT applications relevant to social work practice in the service of helping you move beyond protocol-based approaches and attend to what matters most to you and those you serve – in therapy, and outside of it.
