  • The River of Suicide – Key aspects of suicide prevention and postvention, with a focus on suicide intervention (also known as suicide first aid)
  • How your attitudes about suicide and the relationship you have with a person who is having thoughts of suicide will affect your willingness and effectiveness to engage in the role of their caregiver
  • The PAL Model (Pathways to Assisting Life), utilizing a critical set of tasks caregivers must perform in order to meet the needs of a person thinking about suicide
  • How personal experiences with suicide play a major role in your effectiveness as a caregiver
  • Simulations that allow the PAL model to come to life through in-depth practice of newly learned skills
  • Suicide Safer Communities – Resources available for people thinking about suicide and how to help them navigate within the system to access various agencies and organizations dedicated to helping

Training is run over 2 consecutive days from 8:45am to 4:00pm each day.
