This workshop will focus on specific genetic disorders associated with developmental delay and unique or characteristic behaviours.  Videos will be shown to assist in the recognition of these patterns of behaviour.  Appropriate genetic tests to confirm diagnoses will be outlined.
  • Recognize some of the unique or characteristic behaviours associated with specific genetic diagnoses in  children with development delay
  • Compare the differences between the specific tests needed to confirm the genetic diagnosis
  • Discuss ways in which management of these behaviours may improve quality of life for both child and caregivers
