brainXchange event: Delivering person-centred isolation care during a pandemic: the implementation of the Dementia Isolation Toolkit

online

The Dementia Isolation Toolkit was developed to support residents of long-term care during periods of isolation, as well as to address moral distress in long-term care home staff.  In this presentation, we will speak about how this tool has been used during the pandemic, barriers and facilitators to its use, and some preliminary research on its impact.

Presenter:

Andrea Iaboni, MD, DPhil, FRCPC

Dr. Andrea Iaboni is a geriatric psychiatrist and scientist at Toronto Rehab, University Health Network and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.  Her clinical focus is on dementia care, and she has a research interest in innovations for quality dementia care, particularly in the area of technology.  She is the lead of the Dementia Isolation Toolkit working group.
