Please join us on May 17th at 12:00pm for a presentation on opioid use and naloxone. During this session, we will discuss the “why?” of recommended harm reduction techniques and the important aspects of responding to an opioid poisoning. By the end of the presentation, we hope that participants will be able to
- Describe what an opioid is, and why there is a focus on the opioid poisoning crisis
- Identify risk factors for an opioid poisoning, and strategies to minimize them
- Articulate the steps in responding to an opioid poisoning
This presentation will be led by Charlotte Boone (she/her). Charlotte obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Toronto and is currently completing her PGY-1 Pharmacy residency at CAMH. She has experience in a variety of opioid use disorder treatment and harm reduction settings.
