Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a highly effective therapy for depression. The focus of CBT is primarily on addressing negative thoughts, behavioural activation and modifying core beliefs. This webinar will examine the CBT conceptualization and treatment strategies for managing uni-polar depression.

Review how to differentiate depression from other related conditions. Learn how to develop cognitive restructuring techniques and implement behavioural activation strategies. Participants will understand and learn how to work with clients to modify core beliefs.

Continuing Education 3 (CE) hours: SickKids CCMH Learning Institute has approval from the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) for participants of our programming to apply the number of CE hours earned in the program towards their continuing education hours.

CACBT training hours: Upon completion of the this webinar, participants will have completed 3 hours of continuing education (CE) that will be recognized by the Canadian Psychological Association and may be applied towards the required 40 hours of formal training in CBT as part of the CACBT certification process.

Other licensing boards and professional organizations will grant continuing education credits for attendance at their own discretion; participants will need to submit the course outline and certificate for their consideration.
