Complex Trauma Informed Therapy with Survivors of Human Trafficking & Sex Trafficking

June 16, 2022 @ 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. ET

Presented by: Lisa Romano-Dwyer, Shiffo Farah & Jasmine DeFina

This webinar will provide professional social work clinicians with knowledge, skills, and practices used to treat complex trauma. This webinar will provide enhanced mental health knowledge on the symptoms of acute stress disorders including PTSD, and CPTSD and to dispel myths related to the “working through trauma” narrative or discourse generally used in the field. Helping survivors engage in a process of collaborative healing of safety and trust in others will emerge as the primary goals of complex trauma-informed therapy following months or years of distressing abuse and subjugation by men who actively manipulate, coerce, threaten, or assault women into the sale of sex for money, which they also control.

This Webinar is FREE for Ontario Registered Social Workers (RSW), Registered Social Service Workers (RSSW) and Students of Social Work and Social Service Work Programs. Please note: If you are not an RSW, RSSW or student of these programs in Ontario, you may still attend but will be charged a fee of $20.
