Facilitating MBPs with a Trauma-Informed Lens

Online

Learn trauma-informed principles and mechanisms to help group participants get the most out of a mindfulness-based program (MBP).

Do you want to help participants notice when they are dysregulated and help them move back into their window of tolerance while still holding the group?

Do you sometimes question whether an applicant with a history of trauma is suitable for MBP participation and, if not, how best to communicate that?

Do you struggle to know how to adapt a practice to best suit a participant who has experienced trauma while also maintaining the MBP protocol and the needs of the group?

If so, this workshop is for you.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand the core principles of trauma-informed practice
  • To learn concrete skills and strategies for managing dysregulation in MBP participants
  • To increase skill and confidence in engaging the group in grounding practices
  • To gain experience in adapting a practice while keeping within the structure of the MBP
