In June 2021, the Canadian government passed Bill C-218 which lifted the federal ban on single-event sports betting. Ontario subsequently launched its regulated sports betting program in April 2022, expanding the types of sports betting and sportsbooks available and more easily accessible.
This webinar will provide an overview of new sports betting laws, the types of legal sports betting currently available in Ontario, and the potential harms and consequences of participating in each. Strategies for reducing risky sports betting and resources for those experiencing sports betting problems will also be discussed.
