Free Event: Toronto 2SLGBTQIA+ Health and Well-Being During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Toronto 2SLGBTQIA+ Health and Well-Being During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Join us for the second of a four session series on how the COVID-19 pandemic and the accompanying public health restrictions worsened existing inequalities for LGBTQ2S+ communities.

In general, members of @2SLGBTQ+ communities were vulnerable to the effects of the pandemic due to their experience of marginalization and discrimination in various spheres of life. However, vulnerability shifted across different gender and sexual groups and along other axes of oppression such as race, immigration status, and economic condition.

Members of the research team will present the results of a survey of 484 individuals as well as interviews with 44 people living in Toronto in 2021. The data explores themes around mental health, coping and health behaviours, sources of stress, as well as social support and community involvement.
