Growing up and through the pandemic: Supporting young people through life transitions

As we collectively and cautiously emerge from the pandemic, young people (ages 17 to 25) are navigating education experiences and circumstances that might look more normal than they have in a few years. Young people are transitioning through high school, into post-secondary and into the work force after experiencing several challenges and restrictions during COVID-19. This webinar will share the evidence on the mental health needs of young people and initiatives in community and school settings that provide support to young people and families dealing with the impacts of COVID-19 on planning through these transitions.

In collaboration with Children’s Mental Health Ontario, School Mental Health Ontario, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario, we invite you to a webinar that shares current evidence on the experiences of young people and their families during school transitions and planning in a recovery context, explore what mental health and addictions resources are needed and illustrate new emerging initiatives in both school and community contexts.

This webinar will feature a panel presentation followed by a facilitated discussion. Panelists will share what they know about:

  • the experiences of young people and families navigating key transitions and milestones during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • the strengths in communities and institutions that have supported young people and families during the past 2+ years
  • programs, supports and initiatives available for young people and families in education and community-based child and youth mental health and addictions sectors
  • areas of need among young people and families for the sectors to best support transitions to COVID-19 recovery

The deadline to register for this webinar is October 5, 2022.
