In this latest speaker series, our resident psychiatrist Dr. Alexandra Panaitoiu will provide a talk on the impact of music on wellness

  • Review the effects of music on the body and the brain
  • Discuss the role of music in emotion regulation
  • Highlight therapeutic and practical applications of music


About our speaker:

Dr. Alexandra Panaitoiu, PGY5 Resident
Alex Panaitoiu is a fifth-year psychiatry resident at U of T.  Raised in Montreal, she completed a bachelor's degree in Music Performance and her undergraduate medical education at McGill University.  Clinically, she is especially interested in mood and anxiety disorders, women's mental health, and working with transitional-aged youth. Alex also enjoys music, photography, adventuring, and spending time with her family.
