Introduction to Primary Care Psychotherapy Sessions Supervision in a group format: by ZOOM

Practical, and relevant for all psychotherapists providing mental health services. Focusing especially on the emotional aspects of the patient-therapist relationship these sessions are supportive and encouraging to all Psychotherapists. These sessions are led by a physician who is also a well-trained psychotherapist.

Track 1: Mondays 7:00 to 8:00 PM, (Earn two Mainpro + credit per hour)
TOPICS: Qualities and Actions of Effective Psychotherapists, and Client-Directed Outcome-Focused Psychotherapy

Dates: May 9th, 16th, 30th, June 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, July 4th, 11th, 18th 25th and August 1st 2022 (12 sessions)

Track 2: Wednesday 9:00 to 10:00 AM, (Earn two Mainpro + credit per hour)
TOPICS: Overview of standards and guideline for the psychotherapy and Constructivist Psychotherapy

Dates: May 11th, 18th, 25th, June 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, July 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th 2022 (12 sessions)

Track 3: Thursdays 4:00 to 5:00 PM, (Earn two Mainpro + credit per hour)
TOPICS: Supportive Psychotherapy: Ten Things to Do, and Ten Things to Avoid And Relational Psychotherapy

Dates: May 12th, 19th, 26th, June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, July 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th 2022 (12 sessions)

Track 4: Fridays: 9:00 to 10:00 AM (Earn two Mainpro + credit per hour)
TOPICS: Practical Consideration of Transference & Countertransference in Psychotherapy and
Helping Skills in Psychotherapy Practice

Dates:  May 13th, 20th, 27th, June 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, July 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, and August 5th 2022 (12 sessions)

Track 5: Saturdays: 5:00 to 6:00 PM (Earn two Mainpro + credit per hour)
TOPICS
: Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Qualities and Actions of Effective Psychotherapists

Dates:  May 14th, 21st, 28th, June 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, July 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th 2022 (12 sessions)

The Facilitator is Dr Michael Pare, M.Sc., M.Ed., M.D. RP. Michael has had a long-time deep involvement with the learning, and teaching, and providing of Psychotherapy for many years. Dr. Pare has several credentials in the practice of medicine. He is certified in Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Certified in Group Psychotherapy (AGPA). In addition, Michael has obtained a diploma in the Advanced Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (ATPPP) from U of T.  Dr Pare is a Teaching Mentor / Supervisor of the the Medical Psychotherapy Association of Canada (MDPAC) and also supervises for the Ontario College of Family Physicians. He received further training in psychotherapy supervision from the University of Lethbridge. Additionally, Michael has twice attended in the USA Balint Training Intensives. (These training programs are teaching a type of supervision called a Balint group supervision that is considered a gold standard for the supervision/mentoring of family practice residents and practicing family doctor/psychotherapists in the psychological aspects of Family Medicine). Dr Pare, is currently offering a modified type of supervision/mentoring sessions (by ZOOM) to family practice residents and to family doctor/psychotherapists.
