Leading In A Virtual World: Pandemic Pivots in Children & Youth Mental Health Services

In this webinar, attendees will hear from selected panelists from the Children & Youth Mental Health Services realm as they discuss the following questions:

  • What have you/your organization done to maintain a collective vision & positive dynamics? (team, organization, system of providers)
  • As a leader are you experiencing more barriers, less barriers since the move to virtual?
  • What are the pros and cons of the virtual world?
  • What has been the key to resiliency for you/your organization during the pandemic?
  • From a leadership perspective, what is something you would do differently if you could turn back the calendar to March 2020?


Dr. Wanda Polzin Holman, Clinical Director at Be Brave Ranch in AB, has over 25 years of counselling & clinical experience working with children, youth and families across various domains including Health/Mental Health & Addictions, Children & Family Services, as well as Education. Dr. Polzin Holman has a Doctorate of Education (Ed. D) in Counselling Psych, a Masters Degree (MA) in Counselling Psych & is a RSW. Wanda’s clinical training is multi-faceted, with specialization in Attachment, Trauma, EMDR, AAT, Neurobiofeedback, Family Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, & Concurrent Addiction & Mental Health interventions. She has a deep passion & energy for working with children & caregivers, supporting resiliency, & promoting wellness.

Alison Willets is the Assistant Director, Mental Health Services, Lutherwood in Ontario. Her portfolio includes both live-in treatment services as well as community mental health and youth justice programming. She has been with Lutherwood for 15 years and has held a variety of leadership positions within the agency across different divisions. Her ‘superpowers’ include responsive leadership, project management, people-centered design and strategic objective operationalization.
