The OAMHP’s Knowledge Exchange sessions are one-hour small-group facilitated discussions on topics of relevance to mental health professionals. This session is designed for supervisors, and will focus on challenges that can arise in the supervisory relationship.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Identify markers that a supervisee is making progress toward self-supervision
• Synthesize the role of gatekeeping in supervision
• Identify personal development goals as a supervisor
More about OAMHP Knowledge Exchange
It’s one thing to have read the necessary regulatory documents and the OAMHP’s Standards of Practice; it’s another to encounter a tricky ethical quandary or supervisory issue in your own work. Talking through real-life examples in a safe space with your peers and trained facilitators can help prepare you to meet these challenges with confidence.
Each Knowledge Exchange session starts with a Case Study that illustrates a problem that can arise in practice. Using this story as a jumping-off point, participants dissect the questions and issues it raises, and consider what the best courses of action in such a situation would be.
