In partnership with the St John Ambulance Response Training Program (OPRT) we will discuss stigma and harm reduction strategies specific to opioid poisoning and training on how to administer nasal Naloxone. Naloxone is a medicine that rapidly reverses the effects of opioids on the brain. It is an important tool that can save the life of someone experiencing an opioid poisoning.

Participants who complete the training course will receive nasal Naloxone kits to use in an emergency (by request).

The training course is designed to "train the trainer" and provide an overview for residence life staff, student leaders, orientation and event ambassadors, wellness peer leaders, substance peer leaders, or anyone working or volunteering in the Ontario post-secondary student outreach community. Although it is open to anyone who may be interested in the training, please be aware that the content may be focused and condensed for the audience.

A Q&A will following the course for feedback on how the virtual training could be better adapted for a virtual learning environment for campuses.
