Oakville

True Roots Seminar on Cannabis Legalization
PLEASE SAVE THE DATE: March 7th & 8th, 2019

For a TRUE ROOTS Seminar Series presentation that will discuss the intersection of Legalization of Marijuana and Addictions & Mental Health, and the subsequent impact on Psychotherapy, Social Services, Pain Management, Housing and Spirituality.

This TRUE ROOTS Seminar Series is designed to increase knowledge and community safety, Facilitate individual autonomy while identifying barriers to making informed decisions regarding personal healthcare needs, and target the stigma associated with the multiple benefits and potential harms of cannabis use in this age of federal legalization. Our ultimate goal is to dispel the myths, misconceptions and misinformation associated with cannabis use and empower people with the information available to make fully informed decisions about cannabis.

Our Key Note Speaker, Erin Horlings, is the Concurrent Disorders Specialist with ADAPT and the Phoenix Early Psychosis Intervention Program in Halton Region with over 15 years counselling experience in addictions and mental health. Erin has quite accidentally but enthusiastically embraced her role as the “Weed Girl” at ADAPT. Parlaying her extensive clinical and academic knowledge of cannabis into a series of presentations, she has become an in demand speaker providing trainings across the Region of Halton.

Registration for this TRUE ROOTS Seminar Series event opens the last week of January but inquiries can be made at info@trueroots.org until then.

Looking forward to a fulsome and meaningful discussion that explores the negative and positive impact of Cannabis.

Please feel free to pass this along to others within your network.
