Public Health and Human Trafficking

Tue, Jan 12, 2021 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM EST

Efforts to combat human trafficking primarily focus on catching and prosecuting traffickers and providing services to trafficked persons after harm occurs. Less attention is paid to prevention and addressing the root causes as to why trafficking happens in the first place. Public health can attend to the latter two issues, in addition to contributing much more. This webinar introduces the concept of human trafficking as a public health issue and how a public health approach can benefit antitrafficking efforts.

This Webinar is FREE for Registered Social Workers (RSW), Registered Social Service Workers (RSSW) and Students of Social Work and Social Service Work Programs. Please note: If you are not an RSW, RSSW or student of these programs, you may still attend but will be charged a nominal fee of $35.
