Re-Learning Addiction & Coping Responses in Mental Health: A Trauma Informed Approach

Re-Learning Addiction & Coping Responses in Mental Health: A Trauma Informed Approach

November 3, 2021 @ 12:00pm-2:00 pm EST

Presented By: Sly Sarkisova, MSW Psychotherapist & Consultant in Private Practice

The field of addiction treatment has an extensive history of understanding individuals struggling with the impacts of substance use as needing 'intervention.' Abstinence based treatment models and services have primarily been the mode of access to recovery. In this two hour training session, we will dismantle medical and abstinence based thinking and approaches, and restructure our understandings to build capacity to support our clients from an intersectional, client-centered, trauma informed, and compassion focused approach.

This Webinar is FREE for Ontario Registered Social Workers (RSW), Registered Social Service Workers (RSSW) and Students of Social Work and Social Service Work Programs. Please note: If you are not an RSW, RSSW or student of these programs in Ontario, you may still attend but will be charged a nominal fee of $35.
