Register Now for Frayme's Lived Expertise Knowledge Series!

There are numerous challenges that exist in the youth mental health and substance use sector around the knowledge to practice gaps, the current value attributed to certain types of knowledge and evidence over others, and the limited engagement of lived experts in system and service design. Lived expertise is critical to a system that can meet the needs of youth and caregivers adequately.

As a national organization well equipped to host knowledge sharing events of this scale, Frayme is excited to announce our Lived Expertise Knowledge Series, which will focus on Lived Expertise in Treatment, Research and Systemic Transformation in the youth mental health and substance use sector.

We know that the inclusion of lived expertise in research, treatment and policy enhances access, quality, and impact of services for youth and caregivers. We also know that youth are not homogenous, and by augmenting service design with the diverse experience and contexts of youth, a more equitable and inclusive youth mental health and substance use sector is possible.

This virtual event taking place on November 15-16, 2022 will bring together stakeholders from across Canada to share insights, identify opportunities, and brainstorm solutions that embed lived experience to demonstrate that the adage “Nothing for us without us” is the ultimate optimizer for our youth mental health and substance use system.
