Responding to the Safety and Well-being of Caregivers during COVID-19’.
EAPO is pleased to be joined by the Assaulted Women’s Help Line-Seniors Safety Line (SSL) and The Ontario Caregivers Organization (OCO) to host a webinar on ‘Responding to the Safety and Well-being of Caregivers during COVID-19’. The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted many family members into new roles of caregiving for their loved ones and has also impacted the delivery of programs and services that support older adults in the community. Supports normally accessed, are now reduced or closed, causing increased stress and feelings of anxiety, affecting the health and safety of caregivers and individuals they are caring for.
It is important for caregivers to know help is available to support their mental health and well-being and where and how to access services. This webinar will focus on two provincial support line services, the SSL and OCO, who will discuss how they meet unique needs of families and caregivers, outline their offerings to provide emotional support, information and referrals for older adults and caregivers in Ontario. The session will describe their similarities and differences, particularly as they serve those feeling vulnerable social isolated in the community.
Participants will learn about tools and resources available to help older adults safe and have the opportunity to share their questions with the panel of speakers.
