Supervision Course and Training For Clinical Supervisors

This 30-hour comprehensive and in depth post-graduate level course and training on clinical supervision is designed for psychotherapists and psychologists who wish to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to assume the role of clinical supervisor for students enrolled in graduate counselling and psychotherapy programs, for candidates applying for registration with a regulatory body such as the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and for registered psychotherapists who wish to continue their professional growth and development.

The course is framed within a Four-Dimensional (4-D) Model of Clinical Supervision which comprises developmental, social role, competency, and process dimensions. The 4-D Model of Clinical Supervision, or part of it, can be used by a supervisor of any theoretical stripe. The course is intended for psychotherapists meeting the requirements for independent practice who are engaged in the supervision of other psychotherapists in compliance with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. The course and training offer the participant the tools needed to be an effective, confident, sensitive and competent supervisor.

The course and training in clinical supervision if offered through the Institute for Self-in-Relationship Psychotherapy, Ottawa, and the instructor is Dr. Augustine Meier, C.Psych.

Information regarding the dates of the training and registration procedure is posted on the Institute’s website, www.isirp.com.
