A series of three webinars sponsored by CAMH. All webinars include case studies, and webinars two and three will conclude with a panel discussion. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask presenters and panelists questions.

Learning Objectives

After participating in the webinars, learners will be able to:

  • explain the impact of substance use in early life on the risk of developing a substance use disorder in later life
  • discuss the signs and symptoms of trauma
  • explain the link between trauma and substance use
  • explain the impact of trauma on adolescent brain development and the relationship to substance use
  • outline how to respond to a disclosure of trauma
  • understand the impact of social isolation on substance use—with insights from the COVID experience
  • discuss how to help young people build (or rebuild) family and friend networks.
