WORKSHOP - Narrative Therapy with Families and Couples

VIRTUAL

WORKSHOP - Narrative Therapy with Families and Couples
Narrative practices engage people in the telling and retelling of preferred stories—stories of previous moments when things were going well, and stories that point to the kind of future they hope for. Through carefully crafted questions, we invite couples or family members to witness, resonate with, and contribute to these stories as they unfold. Through this process, members of a relationship or family can gain understanding and appreciation of each other’s experience instead of investing in competing stories. This creates the groundwork for people to team up to face problems together.
In this workshop, Jill Freedman will describe a structure that helps people find a viewpoint from which to witness and understand each other’s experiences. Larger cultural narratives support many relational problems. These will be explored along with therapeutic enquiry that helps people consider possibilities outside of these discourses.
Registration cost is $225 + HST
