Key Note speaker: Maria Liegghio.
Dr. Liegghio is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at York University, Toronto, Ontario. She will be sharing her work on the stigma of mental illness in child and youth mental health, with a focus on suicide prevention. She will also discuss the experiences children, youth, and their caregivers have of mental health, crisis, and police services, and the role stigma plays in accessing these services.

The experience of mental health service users, the experience of Afro-Caribbean youth diagnosed with a mental illness, poverty, and the experiences of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. significance of positioning youth formally within the system to
influence policy and service planning and delivery.
