The Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest brings together addiction and mental health service providers, researchers and subject matter experts in the fields of gambling, technology/Internet use and video gaming to collaborate and share knowledge on emerging trends and clinical best practices.

Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention for Gambling, Gaming and Technology Use

This 1-hour (1 CEU) interactive and experiential webinar will introduce participants to the experience and practice of mindfulness and how it may be incorporated into relapse prevention with gambling, gaming and technology use.

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • define mindfulness
  • gain an understanding of mindfulness through practice
  • describe the nine attitudes of mindfulness
  • explain how mindfulness can be useful in preventing relapse.


Faculty:
 Peter Chen, HSC, CPGC, BEd, has worked as an addiction therapist and education specialist with the Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use team (formerly the Problem Gambling Institute of Ontario) at CAMH since 1995. His work involves the development of educational resources in the areas of gambling addiction and mental health service providers. These resources may include online courses, webinars, face-to-face workshops, and published material. He is also the chair of the Canadian Problem Gambling Certification Board and his area of specialty is in the integration of mindfulness meditation and clinical practice.
