New Advanced Training Offering – Trauma Informed Care: Recovery, Resilience, and Reconnection

We are happy to announce a new advanced training series, Trauma Informed Care: Recovery, Resilience, and Reconnection that will take place every Wednesday between 12PM – 2PM EST (Toronto time) from October 18th – December 6th, 2023.

This eight-week, online advanced training series will be facilitated by Farah Jindani (Ph.D., M.S.W., MPhil., BA). In this training, clinicians* will develop a comprehensive understanding of what trauma is, how it affects the body and brain and how they can support clients develop skills for recovery. Learners will also explore various approaches that support the development of trauma informed awareness, resilience, and growth. Each weekly session will have opportunities for discussion, application, and practice.

*Learners should be active clinicians who have been working with clients for at least three years; registrants may be contacted to confirm their eligibility.

By the end of the training series, learners will be able to:

  1. Explain the neurobiology of trauma;
  2. Discuss various approaches to the assessment and treatment of trauma;
  3. Explain the connection between trauma and addiction (problem gambling); and,
  4. Apply strategies for implementing trauma informed care in clinical care.



This course has been accredited by the Canadian Problem Gambling Certification Board and to the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation for 24 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). 

Learners must participate in a minimum of five webinar sessions and complete the corresponding readings in order to receive CEUs.
