DOTA 2 coming to Vancouver

The latest DOTA 2 competition, worth over $30 million in prize money is taking over the NHL arena in Vancouver for 6 nights. This will be the eigth offering of this competition.

When I first heard about DOTA 2 and its competitions, about 5 years ago, it was unheard that they were offering $1 million in prize winnings. Seems as though there has been exponential growth in this eSports offering.

There are also several Canadians on the various teams.

DOTA 2 competition in Vancouver

There are, according to the article, an estimated 10 million players of DOTA 2 worldwide. Thousands will be attending in person and many more will be watching online.
