- discusses how youth's body image is negatively impacted by the time they spend on social media comparing themselves to their peers, celebrities and complete strangers

- the impact that these comparisons can have include body dysmorphia, depression, anxiety, insecurity and the development of eating disorders - all these issues can overlap with addictions and other areas that clinicians work in

- article includes information on the ways social media apps are developed to keep users engaged and broaden the social reach of the apps

- article includes ways to manage or help prevent some of the consequences that problem social media use can result in - discussing prevention and management of time spent on social media is something I already find myself having conversations about with my clients
