Sports Bettors: Who Are They?

Admittedly, I've never considered what skills (if any) exist to successfully bid on both professional and amateur sporting events. What are the distinctions between chance and skill when betting on the outcome of, say, a hockey game?

A new systematic review in the Journal of Gambling Issues attempts to address this question, and others, in order to better understand the profile of a sports bettor.
