Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest

The Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest brings together addiction and mental health service providers, researchers and subject matter experts in the fields of gambling, technology/Internet use and video gaming to collaborate and share knowledge on emerging trends and clinical best practices.

Hi everyone,

A research team at St. Michael’s Hospital has been working with the community to design and develop a self-management app to help people in their recovery from problem gambling. We are entering the user testing phase. The purpose of user testing is to help inform the next phase of app design.

We are asking people to answer a 16-question survey. We would greatly appreciate it if you could share the survey link (https://redcap.utoronto.ca/sur.../?s=CYPWHAAJCHHRCK9D) with people with lived experience of gambling problems and service providers who work with this population, including yourself. We aim to recruit a diverse group of survey participants, including diversity in organizational affiliation, age, gender identity, sexual identity, as well as ethno-racial and cultural identities.

We will be providing a $5 Tim Hortons gift card to those who participate in the survey. The survey will be open until Friday, December 31st. We created a short information sheet to spread the word (see attached). If anyone would like to complete the survey with the help of a member of the St. Michael’s Hospital research team, we would be happy to set up a zoom meeting or phone call to do so. Feel free to contact the research team at springapp@unityhealth.to or 1-844-781-1516. If you have any questions about the survey, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you.

Flora
