Fortnite implicated in divorce proceedings

I must admit, that when I first saw that headline in various places on social media, I thought it might have been a satire piece from the Onion or something similar.

When I dug a bit deeper, it was revealed that is in, in fact, true.

A couple of things struck me with this headline:

1) I'm so curious about other jurisdictions now and how many other couples would cite gaming as a factor in their relationship breakup.

2) It also calls attention to the fact that gaming is impacting a broad range of ages.

3) That it is also all over social media, which says to me, that an issue is becoming more mainstream.  Not perhaps understood, but that it is becoming common enough that its being picked up by the various social media outlets.

I wonder where else we will start to see this in popular culture?  I'm curious to see if perhaps it will be a storyline for any tv/movie characters in the upcoming season?

It would be interesting to see if this is cited in other countries.

Any thoughts?

Fascinating! It does make sense, especially if we consider it in the context of other harmful usage (alcohol, drugs, sex, food).  I like your extension, Beth, into how we will see it spread into popular culture - as plot lines in our favourite sitcoms and dramas?  I can use this headline in the gambling education workshops my program runs for adults and professionals.  Thanks for the share!
