Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest

The Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest brings together addiction and mental health service providers, researchers and subject matter experts in the fields of gambling, technology/Internet use and video gaming to collaborate and share knowledge on emerging trends and clinical best practices.

I wanted to let you know about our upcoming Gambling and Stigma webinar hosted by the Youth Gambling Awareness Program (YGAP) with the YMCA of Greater Toronto. Below is a description of the webinar:

Do the words we use matter? Where does stigma come from? How do we break the cycle?

If you’ve ever wondered the answer to any of these questions, then look no further because the YMCA’s Youth Gambling Awareness Program (YGAP) has you covered!

Stand-up to Stigma is a free session, designed for service providers and parents of youth. Over the course of an hour, we will explore the cycle of stigma, how stigma impacts the lives of people with gambling problems and creates a reluctance to seek help, and methods to reduce the stigma and stereotypes associated with mental health problems.

The webinar is FREE to attend and is being offered on:

  • Friday, March 10th at 1:00pm EST - 2:00pm EST.

If you’re interested in attending, you can register for the webinar through this link: https://ymcagta-org.zoom.us/we...4FDPcSR_Gb0UxwWGWYmQ

Please feel free to share information about this webinar with anyone you feel may be interested.
