Hi, I m Lawrence originally from Hong Kong. Since coming to live in Toronto a few years ago, I have been an active Volunteer at the Schizophtenia Society of Ontario. On a regular basis, I facilitate a 4-session family education course on coping with Psychosis. I also participate in family support groups both at SSO (multicultural) and at Hong Fook Association (Chinese). At this juncture, I am keen to learn as much insights as I could, about the Cognitive-Psychological elements underlying symptoms and behaviours, so that they could be shared with Families coping in their daily caregiving. I believe apart from basic comprehensive knowledge about Psychosis, Families also need skills to empower them to cope with caregiving, and play meaningful roles as Partners of Recovery. I am keen to learn and sharing with Families. My background has been divided into public service, including policing, and business innovation for small and medium size entreprises. I would like to devote my post-retirement career reincarnation to service in the MH circles. It is an entirely new horizon for me.
