It's Mental Health Awareness Week, but Peers Are Raising it All Year 'Round

It's exciting to have a whole week dedicated to mental health awareness, as opposed to just one day! I've loved seeing the great promotion in the news from all walks of life about how an individual's own mental health or the mental health of others has been impacted.

But the promotion doesn't stop after this week is over. The innovation being done in peer support programming in Ontario is working hard to always raise awareness and positively change the mental health and addiction system.

Take a moment to consider, the Centre for Innovation in Peer Support, which is leading the way with a peer support service model in the Mississauga - Halton Region. EENet collaborated with the Centre for Innovation in Peer Support to highlight this promising practice that is changing the way Ontario's mental health and addiction system is viewed and functions.

Spend a few minutes to read up on this promising practice on EENet.ca or review the attached document for more information, to learn more about how peer support programming raises mental health awareness all year.
