New resources from SMHO:

Do you find that sometimes it helps to walk away from a task when you’re feeling frustrated, do something you enjoy, and then come back to the task? Like us, when students are feeling unsettled or are experiencing difficult emotions, they may not be ready to learn or focus. It’s okay to suggest they try focusing their attention on something else and then return to the school task once they are ready.

Their latest stress management and coping virtual field trip is all about distraction strategies. Go to Student Mental Health Action Kit to access the lesson plans for early years through to secondary. You can also access the previous three lessons:

·       Muscle relaxation strategies
