CAMH and Black Health Alliance are working together on a new project to develop a smoking cessation program tailored towards diverse Black communities in Toronto. The overall goal of this project, titled Equitable Health: Improving Cessation Outcomes within Black Communities, is to co-create a culturally relevant and safe smoking cessation intervention grounded in the voices and lived experiences of Black individuals in Toronto who smoke, or have quit smoking.

As a part of this project, we will be engaging with members of Toronto’s Black community through focus groups to learn about their thoughts and perspectives on what components should be included in a culturally acceptable smoking cessation intervention for Black communities in Toronto.

We encourage you to share our program flyer with any eligible clients/patients/friends that may be interested in participating in a focus group. Compensation will be provided for participant's time.

Who are we looking for? Individuals must:

  • Self-identify as Black
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Either currently smoke cigarettes or have quit smoking
  • Live in Toronto or access services in Toronto
