The City of Toronto is conducting a survey on the use of fireworks in response to a surge in use over the summer and autumn months of 2020. This offers an opportunity for mental health professionals and clients to address the impact upon mental health for sufferers of PTSD.
Most residents in Toronto are unaware of the existing by-laws which restrict fireworks use to holidays and prohibit use in public parks without permit. Currently some residential areas of the city are experiencing fireworks being lit on a nightly basis.
