Dramatic increase in opioid deaths during COVID-19, according to PHAC report

The Public Health Agency of Canada has released its December 2020 report on opioid and stimulant-related harms, including data through June 2020.

There were 1,628 opioid-related deaths between April and June of 2020. This is a 58% increase compared to January to March 2020. It is also the highest quarterly count since national surveillance began.

All I can say is this. The continued increasing death, and harm reported in this report is utterly appalling. When do we say "Enough is Enough!"

Says the mother who lost her son to overdose.
