In 2020, Frayme launched our Great Big Stories (GBS) Grant. This grant focused on capturing, sharing and spreading stories of success in the creation, design, uptake and refinement of youth and family centered, inclusive, diverse, collaborative and equity-enhancing efforts across the YMHSU system. Frayme is now launching the next iteration of our GBS granting stream with a specific focus on addressing effective solutions for problematic substance use for youth and their families.

We know that problematic substance use has increased dramatically through the pandemic, and youth are navigating an increasingly complex mix of psychological, environmental, social, and economic stressors. This is reflected in youth experiencing increased complexity in concurrent substance use and mental health problems.

We also know that there are programs that are responding creatively and effectively to meet youth and their caregivers where they're at, with services and supports that are making a difference, but that the outcomes of many of these initiatives are not currently being measured or evaluated, especially from the point of view of end users of the services. Measuring what we do allows us to deliver better programs to those we serve. We can monitor progress, provide feedback for continuous quality improvement, and share the impact of our programs with others.

Frayme will support grants of up to $20,000 each.
