Seeking Coordination Consultant for the Drug Strategy Network of Ontario

Deadline for Submission: 12 noon EST, January 5th, 2023

Background/Introduction

The Drug Strategy Network of Ontario (DSNO) (https://www.drugstrategy.ca/ ) was established in 2008 and its members work in more than 160 municipalities, counties, townships, regions, and First Nations throughout Ontario with a combined population of more than seven million people. Network members coordinate integrated community, municipal, or regionally based drug strategies and have a wide range of expertise on issues related to substance use.

The DSNO aims to reduce the harms associated with alcohol and other drugs in Ontario, including addressing systemic drivers like failed drug policies and the criminalization of people who use substances that continue to exacerbate these harms. It is a place for collaboration and information exchange, and for developing strategies that lend support to provincial, regional, and local community initiatives. The DSNO is also a place for peer-to-peer support and connection, with a focus on strengthening and continuity of local drug strategy governance and human resources.

In 2021 DSNO partnered with Moyo Health and Community Services (https://moyohcs.ca ) which acts as a host organization managing the DSNO’s funding and consultant contracts.
