The Ontario Peer Development Initiative is looking for Peer Supporters who would be interested in sharing their personal and/or professional experiences with Peer Support as a part of OPDI's training program.

All participants will be compensated for their work.

The two distinct requests are detailed below.

Call for Written Stories

Deadline for Expressing Interest: 31 March 2021

Proposed Deadline for Completed Story: 31

OPDI is looking for a few Peer Supporters who are interested in writing 1-3 pages about their personal lived experiences with mental health and/or addiction. These stories can be written formally or informally. They can discuss one aspect of your lived experience, or provide an overview. We hope to use these stories in our training programs to demonstrate the variety of ways that Peers and Peer Supporters share their lived experience.

Call for Short Videos

Deadline for Expressing Interest: 31 March 2021

Proposed Deadline for Completed Video: 31 May 2021

OPDI is looking for Peer Supporters who would be interesting in making a 1-5-minute video talking about Peer Support in your place of work. We hope to hear from Peer Supporters working in a variety of organizations, including hospitals, community programs, resources centres etc. We are also interested in representing Peer Supporters from across Ontario, in big cities, smaller towns, and rural communities. We hope to use these videos to demonstrate the variety of professional opportunities available for Peer Supporters, and how their experiences differ from workplace to workplace.

If you are interested in collaborating with OPDI on these projects, please send an e-mail to our Education Coordinator (nevena@opdi.org). In the e-mail please introduce yourself, state which project you would like to be involved with, and indicate if you would be able to complete your submission by the proposed deadline.
