NWAC Cannabis-colour Hi everyone! As part of a three-year project funded by Health Canada's Substance Use and Addictions Program where NWAC listened to the perspectives and experiences of Indigenous women, trans, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people to identify the priorities and needs for cannabis public health education and awareness. In response, we have created a central information hub for cannabis and public health related resources. We invite you to visit the Cannabis Education for and by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples Website at:

https://NWACcannabisEd.ca/

The website contains interactive tools and downloadable resources that reflect the requests of our program participants and support their needs and visions for culturally safe cannabis education.

Participants in the project activities tolds us they wanted information on:

  • the plant itself
  • how cannabis interacts with our bodies
  • the origin story of cannabis from an Indigenous perspective
  • using cannabis while parenting and lactating, during pregnancy and while trying to conceive

Happy browsing!
