ABOUT THE STUDY
UOttawa researchers are looking for community and religious leaders and mental health professionals to participate in their study on the mental health of Black communities in Canada.
This study aims to gather the perceptions of mental health professionals and community leaders on the social and cultural determinants that influence the mental health of Black youth. The study aims to enhance understanding of intervention tools needed by professionals and to help develop tools tailored to Black communities.
Participation consists of participating in a 30–40-minute Zoom interview that will be conducted by a trained research assistant. The interview will be strictly confidential and will be recorded for transcription purposes. Each participant will be compensated with a $30 Amazon gift card.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to participate, you must be a community leader or mental health professional who has worked or is working with Black youth and their families.
Community Leaders
You May Qualify If You:
- Are a religious or community leader who has worked with youth from Black communities and their families.
- Speak English or French.
Mental Health Professionals
You May Qualify If You:
- Are a mental health professional (e.g., psychologist, psychotherapist, social worker) who has worked with youth from Black communities and their families.
- Speak English or French.

À propos de l'étude
Nous recherchons des leaders religieux et communautaires et des professionnels de santé mentale pour participer à notre étude sur la santé mentale des communautés noires au Canada.
L'objectif de cette étude est de recueillir les perceptions des professionnels de la santé mentale et des leaders communautaires sur les déterminants sociaux et culturels qui influencent la santé mentale des jeunes Noirs. Cela nous permettra de comprendre les besoins des professionnels en termes d'outils d'intervention et d’en développer qui soient adaptés aux communautés noires.
La participation consiste à participer à un entretien de 30 à 40 minutes sur Zoom qui sera réalisé par un assistant de recherche formé. L'entrevue sera strictement confidentielle et sera enregistrée à des fins de transcription. Une compensation de 30$ en cartes-cadeaux Amazon sera offerte à tous les participants.
Eligibilité
Pour être éligible à participer vous devez être un leader communautaire ou un professionnel en santé mentale qui a travaillé ou qui travaille avec des jeunes des communautés Noires et leurs familles.
