Introducing EMDR: What is it and who is it for?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a World Health Organization endorsed treatment for PTSD. This workshop will introduce participants to the neuroscience underpinnings of EMDR and to the range of presenting issues for which it is well suited. The aim is to provide participants with an understanding of EMDR so that they may explain to clients the benefits and risks of EMDR as a treatment and make decisions about pursuing EMDR training themselves.

Led by Alyson Worrall, an EMDR therapist who is certified with the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), this participatory online workshop is not intended to provide training in EMDR. Rather, participants will learn about the phases of EMDR and practice some of the basic techniques that are used in the assessment phase to help distressed clients regulate.
