Appendix 2 - Culturally Safe and Accessible Digital Mental Health (DMH) Interventions 

for Immigrant Youth

We are seeking participants for a study to advance accessibility to effective and inclusive digital mental health (DMH) interventions among diverse newcomer youth in Asian diasporic communities.

 

Do you identify as:

  • Asian?
  • Immigrants/refugees/newcomers who are born outside Canada or have at least one parent born outside the country?
  • 16 to 22 years old?
  • Having experiences of social and economic marginalization (sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, racism, ageism, etc.)?
  • Feel comfortable enough to read and participate in discussion in English?

 

If so, we invite you to take part in our study to share your knowledge, insights, and perspectives.

Joining this study will involve participating in a 2.5-hour focus group online session with other asian immigrant youth and community stakeholders to review research findings on access to digital mental health resources and provide your suggestions for next-step intervention development. An honorarium of $90 will be provided for participants.

 

The online session will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

 

Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary and confidential. 

 

You may withdraw at any time.  You do not need to provide your real name.

 

You will receive a small honorarium when you attend the focus group session.
