The Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression at CAMH is excited to announce the upcoming CARIBOU CBT Training Course for Facilitators, an interactive, evidence-based program designed to enhance your ability to treat depression in children and youth (ages 13-24). This training is ideal for healthcare professionals such as social workers, occupational therapists, and psychologists looking to deepen their knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Depression in youth is a major concern in Canada, where it is a significant risk factor for suicide—the second leading cause of death among young people. To address this, the Cundill Centre developed the CARIBOU Pathway. CARIBOU (Care for Adolescents who Receive Information ’Bout Outcomes) is an integrated care pathway (ICP) that uses a measurement-based care framework to treat youth depression. It emphasizes collaborative decision-making, involving youth, their families, and care teams in the treatment process.

Key Course Components:

1. Webinars: Learn foundational aspects of the CARIBOU program and its theoretical framework.

2. eLearning Course: Dive deep into the CARIBOU model with in-depth learning material.

3. Virtual Simulation: Apply CBT skills with virtual participants in a realistic setting, ensuring hands-on practice.
