Mental Health and COVID-19

Mental Health and COVID-19

in Bulletin board |

Hi!

I'm curious if any health units/organizations have done some work around COVID-19 and mental health issues associated with it (ie. messaging, talking to your kids, workplace stress due to self isolation etc).

If so, feel free to message me or reply!

Thanks,

The the Mental Health Innovation Network put out a resource to address mental health and psychosocial problems during the COVID-19 outbreak:

https://www.mhinnovation.net/r...ng-covid-19-outbreak

Their recommended interventions during the COVID-19 outbreak focus on various topics:

  • For older adults to cope with stress
  • Supporting the needs of people with disabilities
  • Messages & activities for helping children deal with stress
  • Activities for adults in isolation/quarantine
  • Supporting people working in the COVID-19 response
  • Messages directed at the community-level

We put together this Youtube to help staff with the inevitable stresses of this situation- it is built on work we did during SARS, feel free to share if you find it helpful,

Hi there,

At the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health, we have been pulling together evidence/resources to support service providers to continue to care for children, youth and families at this time. New resources will be added weekly--please have a look at www.cymh.ca.

Stay safe,

Purnima
