Dear EENet Connect members:

Dr. Nigel Turner at CAMH is conducting a short survey aimed towards clinicians who help people with addictions and mental health problems. We had originally offered this survey to problem gambling treatment professionals, but we have now expanded it to any one helping problem with addictions or mental health problems.

The purpose of the research is to better understand:

  • How you have adapted your services in response to the pandemic.
  • Your level of stress during the pandemic
  • Your training and education needs

The survey is anonymous and you will not be asked your name or any other identifying information. The findings will be distributed back to you through  EENet and professional development conferences related to addictions and mental health problems.

To read the consent form and begin the survey please click on the link below or copy it into your browser.

The pandemic has really changed things for everyone, not just service users but also the professionals serving them. There is greater stress, greater uncertainty, isolation and a need to do virtually what we used to do in person. We need to learn new skills and adapt to a different landscape. Now there is a finer line between service users and service providers. But what exactly are we dealing with, what are these new skills? Hopefully, this survey should give us a better handle on what we are dealing with.

Thanks Peter, yes its been a time of great uncertainty and rapid change. Thats why I'm doing this survey, so we know what the impact is on treatment professionals and to provide PSSP at CAMH with some information about what is needed. Facilitate sharing etc..
